Vera Ness

Vera Lucille Ness, 95, of Des Moines, died Easter Sunday, April 8, 2007 at Pleasant Care Nursing Center in Pleasantville. Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Monday, April 16, 2007 at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue in Des Moines. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will take place in Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Vera was born in Higginsville, Missouri. She was raised in Des Moines, graduated from East High, and married Monrad Ness in 1933. She resided most of her life in Des Moines.
She was a charter member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Ankeny. Her life was centered around her deep Christian faith and values.
Vera is survived by her two sons, Jack P. Ness (Dixie) of Des Moines, and William J. Ness (Marjorie) of Lancaster, MA; and two grandchildren, Jeffrey Ness (Lisa) of Runnells and Lisa Woods (Larry) of Des Moines; and five great-grandchildren. Vera was preceded in death by her husband, Monrad, and her sister, Lillian.
