Mary Jean Worthington

Mary Jean Worthington, age 90, died Friday, May 13th at Mercy Hospital.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday, May 18th, at Heritage Court Assisted Living in West Des Moines.

Mary Jean was born October 15, 1920, in Des Moines to John and Mona Calvert.

She was preceded in death by her older son Robert L. Worthington, Jr., of Mountlake Terrace, Washington.

She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Robert L. Worthington, Sr., her son James C. Worthington and his wife Nancy of Amarillo, Texas, and her daughter-in-law Ellen Worthington of Mountlake Terrace, Washington. Also surviving are two grandsons, the sons of Robert, Jr., and Ellen Worthington and their families: Darin and Cathy Worthington, and their daughter Sarah, of Mountlake Terrace, Washington, and Brian and Jodi Worthington, their daughter Reese, and son Warrick of Lynnwood, Washington. Surviving in West Des Moines are Mary Jean’s nephew Curtis Alber and his wife Jane.

Mary Jean and her husband Bob were long-time members of Park Avenue Presbyterian Church, and the family requests that any memorial contributions be sent to Park Avenue Presbyterian.
