Ruby Marie Luther

Ruby Marie Mathis Luther, 90, passed away peacefully May 14, 2011.

Ruby was born in Brewers, Kentucky. She loved southern cooking, listening to music by Pete Fountain, spending time with her family, and gardening, with her favorite being tomatoes and onions.

Ruby is survived by her son, Martin (Rita) of Florida; daughters, Susan (Wayne) of Goodyear, Arizona, and Jean Ann of Altoona; daughter-in-law, Kathy Luther of Altoona; 10 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Francis; and son, John.

The family will receive friends from 4:30 to 6 p.m. on Tuesday, May 17, 2011, at Hamilton’s Altoona Funeral Home, 105 4th Street SW in Altoona.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the Alzheimer’s Association or Hospice of Central Iowa in loving memory of Ruby.
