Thomas Allen

Thomas Lee Allen, the third child of Jerald Allen and Bessie Allen, was born November 24, 1961, in Sanford, Florida. Tom spent the majority of his life as a resident in the Altoona and Des Moines area, before moving to Georgetown, Texas two years ago. He worked for Van Dyke Furnace in Altoona for many years.

In the early evening of May 4, 2011, Tom lost his battle with esophageal cancer. He passed away at his home in the presence of his mother and siblings. He was 49 years old. Tom was preceded in death by his father, Jerald Allen.

Those left to honor the memory of Tom include his mother, Bessie Allen of Georgetown, TX; children, Jeremy Allen, Jacob Allen and Abby Allen, all of Des Moines; siblings, Vickie (Perry) Heer of Liberty Hill, TX, Frank (Mary) Allen of Liberty Hill, TX, and Dan (Donna Lynn) Allen of Cedar Park, TX., and his step-mother, Nancy Allen of Altoona.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday, May 9, 2011, at Hamilton’s Altoona Funeral Home, 105 4th Street SW, with burial at Altoona Cemetery. Family will greet friends one hour prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Hospice of Georgetown, Texas.
