Alyssa Nicole Frederick, 17, passed away Tuesday, May 3, 2011, at Child Serve in Johnston, Iowa. She was born July 29, 1993, in Des Moines to James and Kimberly (Spaw) Frederick.
Alyssa loved her days in the sun, with the wind in her face, and her favorite blanket by her side. She wasn’t shy about being the center of attention, and enjoyed all the love she received from her family at Child Serve.
Alyssa is survived by her mom and dad, Kim and Jamie Frederick; brothers, Zac and Roman; as well as numerous grandparents, great-grandparents, aunts, uncles, and many cousins. She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Michael J. Spaw.
The family will greet friends from 5 to 7 p.m., Thursday, May 5, 2011, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street. Memorial services will be held at 2:30 p.m., Friday, May 6, 2011, at the funeral home, with burial to follow at Laurel Hill Cemetery.

Jamie and Kim and family,
I just wanted to express my sympathy to you with the passing of Alyssa. She was a very special young lady to me and will always be remembered. There were so many amazing things that Alyssa accomplished in life and will be remembered by. She always had that "naughty" streak to her and was just full of life when I knew her. She always amazed me...she had that sense of humor about her and was so much fun to have in the classroom. I will miss her a great deal. My thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time!
