Service Details
Ashley Stewart, 18, passed away on May 3, 2011. Services will be on Saturday, May 7, 2011, at Hamilton’s on Westown Parkway, 3601 Westown Parkway in West Des Moines, with visitation from 12 to 1 p.m., and the service at 1 p.m.
Ashley was born on December 23, 1992, to Kim and Jon Stewart. She was a student a Ruby Van Meter School and participated in Special Olympics. Ashley always had a laugh and a smile for her family and her friends who cared for her at ChildServe. She loved the outdoors and the colors orange and hot pink.
She will be greatly missed by her mom, Kim Stewart; father, Jon (Kari) Stewart; grandparents, Jill and Tal Zagar; her aunt, Wendy (Mark) Wassink; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Ashley was preceded in death by her grandparents, LaVerne and Shirley Stewart; and great-grandparents, Kathryn and Edward Dywer, Fern and Tony Zagar.

I am proud to have worked with such a wonderful person. Ashley was a great person who has shaped my life more then I could have imagined. I am glad to have known her and wish the best for her and you as you progress onwords. She was lucky to have such a caring and loving family.

What a great girl Ashley was. I worked with her for years at Easter Seals and remember her leaving and me not knowing where she went. Then, years later, I come to work for ChildServe and find that she is at one of the homes. I was very excited! She was always so much fun at camp. Kim, I know that I didn't know you well but you had such a great daughter. She will always be on my heart and my sympathy is extended to you. You did such a great job with Ashley!

My heartfelt sympathy and concern to you at this time. In that I did not know Ashley personally I knew her through Kim and enjoyed hearing about her accomplishments and her loving ways. Her spirit and inspiration will be one for all to learn from.
