Max Ridenour

Max James Ridenour, 87, died Thursday, April 28, 2011. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 4, 2011 at 11 a.m. at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon St. in Des Moines, with burial to follow at Chapel Hill Cemetery. Visitation will occur Tuesday, May 3, 2011 from 5 p.m. – 7 p.m. at the funeral home.



Max was born February 24, 1924 in Hampton, IA to Gale and Lucille Ridenour. He was a proud Army Veteran of WW II serving his country in Europe and Asia. On August 11, 1950 he married Patricia Joan Beck. Max worked as a stockbroker for Lamson Brothers, was a financial adviser for First Mid America and retired in 1991 from RG Dickenson. He was a member of the South Des Moines Kiwanis and served in various capacities including one year as president of the South Des Moines Little League

Max is survived by his wife, Patricia; sons, Rex (Cindy) of Redlands, CA, Robert of Phoenix, AZ; daughter, Susan (Bill Parks) of Des Moines; brother, Gary (Kathleen) Ridenour of Clive; grandchildren, Jaime and Eric (Mykie) Ridenour of Madrid, IA, Max Parks of Des Moines and great granddaughter, Paige.

He was preceded in death by his parents and granddaughter, Samantha Parks.
