Sharon Mason, 60, passed away April 28, 2011, at Mercy Medical Center.
Sharon was born November 28, 1950, in Des Moines. She worked as a cook at the Mitchellville Care Center. Sharon was an animal lover, especially cats. She was a wonderful cook, and will be remembered for her great potato salad and potato soup. She loved roses and angels.
Sharon is survived by her children, Jennifer (Greg) Cone, Angela (Scott) Gardner and Mike (Mary) Mason; nine grandchildren, Ciera, Eric, Xavier, Cody, April, Ashley, Alex, Chloe and Bladen; and her friend & father of her children, William Mason. She was preceded in death by her mother, Norma Hodge and her brothers, Ron and John Hodge.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 6 p.m., Sunday, May 1, 2011, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, May 2, 2011, at the Mitchellville Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the family.

Sharon was ever the friend to whomever she encountered, weather it was online or in person. It makes me sad to see her picture on Facebook. She will be missed by many of us. Jenny, Angie, Mike, Bill and beloved grandkids, please except our regret for your huge loss. The distance between Alabama and Des Moines prevented us fron attending. May God be with you in the days and years ahead.

Sharon will be missed greatly by all who knew her. I loved to get her emails as they gave me a lift for the day. I will also miss visiting with her at the Thomas gatherings.
Steve and I both send our sympathies.
