Barbara M. Miller, 80, died Sunday, April 24, 2011, at Mercy Hospice Johnston. She was born October 4, 1930, to Steve and Golda Thomas in Hammond, IN.
Barbara retired from the payroll department at Bridgestone/Firestone.
Barbara is survived by her daughters, Jackie (Dan Perrine) Blanchard and Jody (Dennis) Britton; grandchildren, Troy Britton, Tiffany (Josh) Green, Steve Blanchard, and Nicholas Blanchard; brother, Herb (Lois) Thomas; and sister-in-law, Roberta Thomas. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jasper; and brothers, Sonny, Don, and Roy Wayne Thomas.
A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Monday, May 2, 2011, at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue. Family will greet friends one hour prior to the service.
Memorial contributions may be made to Mercy Hospice or the American Cancer Society in loving memory of Barbara.

I always enjoyed talking with Barb and Jasper at our h.s.reunions. Seems they were always right there in the lobby ready to greet me when I checked in at Motel 60. We will miss them.

Lots and lots of memories with Barb and Jap beginning during our "growing up" years in Centerville, Ia. After graduation; going our separate ways; marriage etc. we always managed to get together each year for the CHS reunions and "catch-up" on the latest news. We lived in Newton, Ia. for many years so were fortunate to be with them more often. Barb will be missed. A friend to everyone. She is now where she wanted to be. Our sympathy to all her family. You are in our thoughts and prayers. Wish we were closer.
