John Stegman

John Bernerd Stegman, 60, was born May 10, 1950, in Dodge City, Kansas, the son of Leonard and Agnes (Strecker) Stegman. He passed away peacefully at his home Thursday, April 21, 2011, surrounded by his loving family.

John is survived by his loving wife, Connie Stegman of Des Moines; children, Jeremy Carter and Jason (Ashley) Stegman of Des Moines and Jessica (Brian) Brown of Knoxville; grandchildren, Dylan, Madison, Braden, Taylor, Hailey and Ashlyn, all of Des Moines; mother, Agnes Stegman of Kansas; siblings, Christina Ladd, Roseanne (Jerry) Sherrill, Peggy (Eldon) Unruh, Noreen (Steve) Stonehocker and Andrew (Eileen) Stegman, all of Kansas and Loretta (David) Tackett of Texas and many nieces, nephews, other loving relatives and many wonderful friends. He was preceded in death by his son, John Todd; grandson, Riley Stegman; father, Leonard Stegman and his brother, Leon Stegman.

The family will greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Monday, April 25, 2011 at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street, with a rosary service beginning at 6 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11 a.m., Tuesday, April 26, 2011, at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, 15 Indianola Road. Cremation will follow the funeral mass. Memorial contributions may be made to the family in loving memory of John.
