James Kindhart

James Kindhart, 75, passed away April 20, 2011 at Taylor House Hospice.

James was born January 13, 1936. He retired from the City of Des Moines, Sewer Maintenance Dept. after 30 years of service. In 1997, James miraculously survived surgery for a torn aorta. He was an active member of Faith Independent Assembly of God Church, where he served as a Deacon. James enjoyed fishing, hunting and camping.

James is survived by his wife of 53 years, Mildred “Judy” Kindhart; children, Susan (Jeff) Jayne, James Kindhart and Gary (Patricia Anne) Kindhart; four grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and his sisters, Mary Ann Fitch and Norma Jean Kenoyer. He was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Thelma Kindhart and his son, Michael Allen Kindhart.

Funeral services will be held at 12 p.m., Saturday, April 23, 2011, at Faith Independent Assembly of God Church, 5685 SW 14th Street, followed by burial at Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street.
