James Garcia, 83, passed away at his home on Sunday, April 17, 2011.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, at St. Anthony Catholic Church. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, with a 7 p.m. Rosary service, at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street.
Jim was born April 16, 1928, in Des Moines, IA, to Frances and Juan Garcia. Jim is survived by his sons, Jim Garcia and Justin Nostrala (Jennifer); his sister, Fatima Medina; his grandchildren, Alexus, Samona, Seth, and Caleb; and many nieces and nephews. Jim was preceded in death by his wife, Juanita, his parents, and his brother, John.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions should be directed to the St. Anthony Capital Fund Foundation in memory of Jim.
