Ira Hansen

Ira Hansen, 73, passed away Thursday, April 5, 2007 after a short battle with cancer at the Sunny View Care Center in Ankeny. Funeral Services will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday, April 9, 2007, at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue, with burial following at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.
Ike was born in Burt, IA, to Ira and Elva Hansen, and moved to Woodward, IA. before settling in Des Moines for the past 48 years. He worked for Firestone Tire and Rubber Company for 30 years.
He is survived by his wife Sally of 48 years. His children Dennis (Pam) Hansen of North Richland Hills, Texas; Daniel (Robin) Hansen of Grimes, IA; Denise Hansen of Grimes, IA.; a sister, Shirley Dutler of LePorte City, IA; 6 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Jim Hansen.
