Katherine "Burdean" Gagen

Burdean Gagen, 83, of Valley View Village passed away April 16, 2011. Services will be held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, April 20, 2011, at Easton Place United Methodist Church, 2412 Easton Blvd., Des Moines.

Burdean was born in Rex Five, Iowa, and lived in Des Moines most of her life.

She is survived by her children, Kathy (Brian) Carpe, of Urbandale, Claudia Conaway and Ken Conaway, both of Clear Lake; sister, Nadine (Cliff) Layton of Des Moines; grandchildren, Brandon, Zachary, Heather and Hillary Carpe, all of Urbandale.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines.
