Pamela Sue Maland, 61, lost her courageous battle with cancer on April 16, 2011. She was born September 30, 1949 in Spencer, Iowa the daughter of Donald and Laura Sorber.
Pam had retired from the U.S. Post Office after 28 years of service.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Denny Maland.
Pam will be dearly missed by her children, Chris (Heather) Maland and Jennifer (Ernie) Nipper; grandkids, Ashley and Dylan Bradshaw, Stephanie Sutherland and Carson Maland; great grandchild, Lorlei, and significant other, Bruce Stills; brother, Ron (Judy) Sorber and many nieces and nephews.
Pam’s love, thoughtfulness and terrific sense of wit will forever be cherished by family and friends.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 21, 2011 at 2 p.m. from Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Bright Kavanagh House.

I was so sorry to hear about your Mom. I worked with her in the caller cage at the P.O. she was a good friend and we had just good times together. She was always happy go lucky and we laughed all the time.She always talked about you kids and was very proud of you both.She was loved by so many I just wanted to let you know how sorry I am for your lost.May God Bless you all.

I worked with your mother at the Post Office. Was training her one day on the computer to cover me during my vacation time. We were laughing so much the boss came in and asked what we were doing. I think it took me at least 2 hours to show her how to do 1 report, which usually takes 15 minutes. I will always remember her laugh and way of joking around. She was a good friend and wonderful lady. Pam will be missed by many. Our condolences go out to you and your families in this time of sorrow. May God be with all of you at this time.
