Sara Hawkins, 75, passed away April 11, 2011, at Kavanagh on 56th Street.
Sara was born November 4, 1935, in Newton, IA, to Ralph and Bess Hollingsworth. She enjoyed driving her red Corvette, and home decorating. Sara was a member of the CPA Auxiliary Wife’s Club.
She is survived by her husband, David, sister, Sabra Schippers, and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, April 15, 2011, at New Testament Baptist Church, 3020 E. 38th Street, followed by burial at Silent City Cemetery in Monroe, IA. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street in Des Moines.

Our family sends our sincere condolences to David and Sara's family on Sara's passing. She and her husband are beautiful people who we have known for almost 50 years. May Sara be eternally blessed and may her family have the comfort in knowing that she is at peace.
