Carol Nutt, 75, passed away April 7, 2011, in Austin, Texas. She was born May 30, 1935, in Jackson, Michigan, to LeRoy and Florence Buskirk.
Carol is survived by her husband, Clarence, of Texas; children, Kathryn Lavonne (Mike) McDowell and Richard LeRoy Benson, of Des Moines; siblings, Beverly Jean (Gordon) Ketelaar, of Florida and James (Debra) Buskirk, of Michigan; sister-in-law, Ann Buskirk, of Michigan; grandchildren, Eric B. Stephenson, Todd Benson and Joel C. Niemeyer, all of Texas; Kelly R. Niemeyer and Jessalyn Todd, of Iowa; and great-grandchildren Gavin and Will Todd, of Iowa, and Joel J.M. Niemeyer, of Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents; children Ronald Dean and Robert Edward Benson; and siblings, Mildred Buskirk, William Buskirk, Alan Buskirk, Sr. and Brenda Pariseau.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 14, 2011, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, followed by burial at Avon Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, at the funeral home.

Mr. and Mrs. Nutt are our neighbors here in Austin Texas. We have known them for the past 10 years. They have watched our daughter grow from birth to now. Carol was a wonderful woman and will be greatly missed by our family. My daughter summed it all up when I told her of Carol's passing. Momma why do all the Good People have to die? It's not fair, she was so nice to everyone. She was like my grandma cause she and Mr. Nutt would pick me up from school and she would always give me cookies and milk when we got back to her house. Then we would sit outside on her swing and talk. I just told her that I guess God needed her up in heaven with him. We've had lots of neighbors in our lives but none that made us feel like family the way Carol did. We Love and will Miss You Mrs. Nutt.
