Marjorie “Marie” Williams the daughter of Marjorie S. and Levi B. McGuire was born on September 28, 1912, in Edina, Missouri.
She graduated in 1930 from East High in Des Moines. Marie was united in holy matrimony to Roscoe Williams in Des Moines. Marie was employed as a housekeeper at the Kirkwood Hotel for 68 years. She was a devoted member of the New Friendship Church of God in Christ under the leadership of Elder R.L. Daye. She was a devoted member of the Mother’s Board, Usher Board, Board of Hospitality and State Gift Lady.
Mother was a loving sister and aunt who helped raise her many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews who are too numerous to name. She not only gave of herself to her family and friends, but to everyone she could. Mother will be missed by all.
Marjorie departed this life April 1, 2011, at the age of 98. She was preceded in death by her loving parents; husband; sisters, Onetha, Lillie and Anna; brother, Levi II; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, April 9, 2011, at Greater Love C.O.G.I.C., 1440 DeWolf Street, followed by burial at Glendale Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to Greater Love C.O.G.I.C. in loving memory of Marie.

To the family of Mother Majorie Marie Williams, we, the pastor, associate ministers, and the entire church family express to you our deepest sympathy in the passing of your loved one. Hours pass into days and time slips away, but the words we speak and the things we do touch the lives of others and live forever. Those who share their laughter and their smiles with everyone, help others feel a sense of their own worth. They are God's own special angels who may pass this way but once, but who truly make a difference here on earth. The world is a better place because your loved one lived so well and shared so freely. May the cherished memories you hold and the care and understanding of others, help you through this time of deepest sorrow, as you realize just how special your loved one was and that she meant so much to others. You're in our thoughts and prayers.

Aunt Marie you was the best great-aunt in the world. There was nobody that you wouldn't help and your kindness was unbelievable. I have been blessed to be a witness to what the world needs, and that is more people like you. I thank the Lord for giving you to me and all of our family.
