Jo Ann M. Van Trees, 72, died Wednesday, March 30, 2011, at Mercy Hospice in Johnston, from ovarian cancer. She was born March 25, 1939, to Chester and Neva Keith in Des Moines.
Jo Ann graduated from North High School, and worked as a print designer at various places throughout the United States.
Jo Ann is survived by her husband of 45 years, Howard; sisters, Myra Haley of Yuba City, CA, and Mary Gipe of Mingo; sisters-in-law, Phyllis Keith of Alexandria, MN, and Janice Keith of Chariton; many nieces; nephews; and beloved friends.
The family will greet friends from 12 to 1 p.m., Saturday, April 2, 2011, at St. Paul Presbyterian Church, 6426 Merle Hay Road, Johnston. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the church. Per her wishes, cremation will follow services.

Howard,
I want to express my sympathy in the death of your wife. I expect this will be a big change for you. I wish you well as you go forward in life.
I am assuming that you are the Howard who was at Fort Carson with me in November of 1961 into 1962. We ate together several times. You took me to lunch in Pella once about 14 years ago. Feel free to cantact me and I'll return the favor. We can spend an afternoon together at our home.

Aunt Jo Ann will be missed by many. Very loving and generous person. We were all blessed and better people having known her. Thoughts and prayers are with Howard and all those who loved Jo Ann and were loved by her.
