Floyd Crawford

Floyd Marlo Crawford, 84, passed away March 21, 2011, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center.

Known to family and friends as Marlo, Floyd was born February 6, 1927, in Decatur, Illinois, and grew up in Pocahontas, Iowa. He was a sign electrician for Cox Sign Co. for 35 years before his retirement in 1991. Marlo was a member of the IBEW. He enjoyed fishing in Canada, traveling, gardening, and making crafts.

Marlo is survived by his wife of 60 years, Donna; daughter, Marsha (Louie) Sliter; sister, LaVonne Severson; two grandchildren: Jenny Cervantes and Doug White; four great-grandchildren; and seven nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, Mark.

A memorial reception will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, March 25, 2011, at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the John Stoddard Cancer Center.
