Desma Kasper

Desma Kasper, 91, formerly of Des Moines, entered into eternal rest on Monday, April 2, 2007 at Liberty Terrace Care Center in Liberty, Mo. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, April 6, 2007 at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will take place in Glendale Cemetery.
Desma was born March 3, 1916 in Carney, IA to Paul and Ernesta Brugioni. She worked at Des Moines Ford Implement Plant, where she met and married Steven Kasper in 1948. She later worked in clothing sales at Kleins, Arnolds, Sterns and Grants in Highland Park. Desi, as she was called by her friends belonged to Grants’ Girls Retiree Club, Boline-Manfredi VFW Ladies Auxiliary, All Saints Rosary Society, and the Vittoria Italian Lodge. She loved her home and her flowers, clothes, jewelry, garage sales, square dancing, fishing and playing cards.
She is survived by one sister and one brother, a daughter and son-in-law Linda Kay and James Brauer of Kearney, 2 granddaughters and two great granddaughters. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, two brothers and a twin sister.
