Gary Anderson

Gary Anderson Sr., 65, passed away March 18, 2011, in Des Moines. He was born May 23, 1945, to Oscar and Eva Anderson in Des Moines.

Gary graduated from East High School, and then served in the Navy. He worked at Dental EZE and Stone Container, and retired from EMCO as a machinist. Gary was a member of Teamsters Union Local 147. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, reading, cooking, and playing his guitar and harmonica.

Gary is survived by his wife of 26 years, Donna; children, Wendi (Ed Meek) Anderson, Gary Anderson, Jr., Kevin (Boo) Anderson, Jacquee (David) Sexton, Missy (Travis) Keith, Alan Fredericksen and Andy (Candee) Fredericksen; 13 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; sisters, Barbara Maxwell and Fran (William) Aldini; and a host of other extended family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his daughter-in-law, Peggy Kern; brother, Donald Anderson; and sister, Dorothy Foreman.

A memorial visitation will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. Tuesday, March 22, 2011, at East Gate Lodge, 2501 E. Grand Avenue.
