Phyllis M. Bieghler

Phyllis M. Bieghler, 74, died Friday, March 11, 2011, at Mercy Hospital. She was born May 29, 1936, to Chester and Irene Sumpter in Polk City, Iowa.
Phyllis was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and Pioneer Sons & Daughters. She enjoyed family history and was active in the Iowa Genealogical Society. Phyllis was also a member of the Central Iowa Model “A” Club.
Phyllis is survived by son, Don Bieghler, Jr. and Emily Bieghler; grandson, D.J. (Carol) Bieghler; great-grandchildren, Brenden, Layla, and Dominic; brother, Bill (Patty) Sumpter; sister, JoAnn (Don) Hevelone; son-in-law; Luis Ramirez; and a host of other family and beloved friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Don Bieghler, Sr.; daughter, Denise Stone; grandson, Anthony Patrick Stone, Jr.; and brother, Alvin “Butch” Sumpter.
Funeral services will be held 12:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 15, 2011, at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue, with burial to follow at Union Cemetery. Family will visit with friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society in loving memory of Phyllis.
