Gloria Wold

Gloria Ann Wold, 74, died Thursday, March 10, 2011, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines. She was born September 5, 1936, in Oklahoma, daughter of Dr. C.E.A and Mary McKim.

She was a graduate of Drake University and earned her Masters Degree in Education from the University of Missouri in Columbia. Gloria taught English in the Missouri public schools before moving to Des Moines.

Prior to her marriage, Gloria was a missionary candidate for the Christian Church (DOC) and was a long-time member of Glen Echo Christian Church. Gloria was a caring and loving person whose family was her passion. She loved to write music and poetry.

Gloria is survived by her daughter, Chris Wold; son, Ken (Cindy) Wold of Texas; grandchildren, Alex, Dakota, and Chloe; sister, Pat (Gary) Rybolt of Missouri; and a host of other beloved family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth; her parents; and sister, Marybelle.

Graveside services will be held 2 p.m., Monday, March 14, 2011, at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery, 1 NE 60th Avenue, Des Moines.
