Sharon Dodson

Sharon A. Stark Dodson, 63, Harrison Ave, Des Moines, passed away Saturday March 31, 2007 at Kavanagh House on Grand Ave., West Des Moines, of cancer. The funeral service will be at 1:00 PM Thursday at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street. The visitation will be held from 11:00 AM until service time. Burial will follow at Laurel Hill Cemetery in Des Moines.
Sharon was born April 5, 1943, in Promise City, Iowa to Emo and Wilma Stark. After graduating from Corydon High School, Sharon lived, worked and raised her family in Des Moines. Her occupations were housekeeping, janitorial and factory work until being diagnosed with lung cancer and emphysema in 2004. She loved being a Grandma.
Sharon is survived by her children, Michael Stark, Kenneth Dodson, Charles Dodson, and Eva Kelly; grandchildren, Matthew Lamont, Nautica Kelly, Zachary Yates and Hunter Davenport, all of Des Moines; and siblings, Wilda (Darrell) Jensen, Urbandale; Pat (James) Horton, Corydon; Bart Stark, Havelock, NC; and Janet (Don) Lohner, Humeston, also many nieces and nephews.
Sharon was preceded in death by her son, Darrell LeRoy Dodson, 9; sister Carole E. Hinton; and her parents.
