Service Details
James Harlan Duncan, Jr., 82, passed away March 3, 2011, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center. Visitation will be held from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday, March 6, 2011, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street.
James was born July 9, 1928. He was a retired chief engineer from Hubbell Realty. After retirement, James worked for Lewis Systems for seven years. James loved to spend time with his family and friends. He enjoyed fishing, cooking and target practice.
James is survived by his wife, Shirley Duncan; daughter, Sandy Duncan; sons, Joe (Lori) Duncan and Kenny Burk; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Shirley, Sandy and family, I'm so sorry to hear about Jim and I am sorry to have missed the service! I appreciate you stopping by the house Sunday to tell me - I tried to get everything wrapped up to stop over but with the late notice and the fact that I already had people scheduled to be working at the house and couldn't get away in time to make it - I am really sorry!
Also, thank you for dropping off the obituary this week, Bill made sure that I got it.
Please know that I am thinking about you and hope that things are going as well as they can for you.

Sorry for your loss. My husband, Orville Frazier, worked with Jimmy at Hawkeye Security Insurance in Des Moines for several years and enjoyed Jimmy's friendship. I remember visiting with Sandy when she was 5 years old when Jimmy came to my house for a visit. Orville passed away in 1980 of cancer. Would enjoy hearing from the family. Donna Frazier
