Arlene was an incredible sister-in-law, friend and confidant, and my heart hurts for her loss, for Don and for the rest of the Spaw family. I will carry in my heart forever the sounds of her laughter and quick wit. I am so happy she was able to visit Oregon in 2009 - we laughed, cried, enjoyed the beach and all the places in-between. All our love and prayers to our Iowa family.

Don and Children - Please know that I am thinking of and prayiing for you during this difficult time. I cannot think of Arlene and the Spaw Family without thanking God for the blessing of sharing so many years as neighbors. We all became friends and shared so much. We have celebrated, mourned, moved in and out, rebuilt, advised, and been each others' host and guest. We Quinlans all loved Arlene and enjoyed the gifts of her smile, kindness, wit, talents, and heart. She has left each of us richer and better for having known her. Our hearts are broken, but we will mend and be happy again, just as Arlene would want. Much love, Anne

Dear Don and all,
I just want to tell you how grateful I am for the friendship Arlene and I had for SO MANY years, which began when we were in grade school at Visitation. The memories I have from those early years will always be precious, as well as how good she was to me when I was in rehab in '09.
With all of that in mind I send my deepest sympathy and prayers at this time of loss for you.
Peace and love,
Sandy

Spaw family.....May Arlene rest in peace. I graduated from SJA with this gracious lady. She showed many of us in the Class of 1955 just how to live. I will always remember her smile and her kindness to all others. Heaven is the lucky place to receive Arlene..Joyce Hansen James
