Virgil Plautz, Jr.

Virgil F. Plautz Jr., 60, died Monday, February 28, 2011, at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines from heart failure. Per his request, his body will be cremated and no services are currently planned.
Virgil was born September 19, 1950, to Virgil Sr. and Betty Plautz in Spencer, Iowa. He graduated from Spencer High School, and learned his trade of auto body repair from Iowa Lakes Community College. Virgil worked for H&N Chevy in Spencer and later at the Janitor’s Closet. He enjoyed all things cars, and loved spending time with his grandchildren.
Virgil is survived by his sons, Heath (Michelle) and Hal (Lindsay) Plautz; grandchildren, Christian, Nicholas, and Camron; brother, Charles (Rhonda) Plautz; former spouse, Jeani Plautz; and a host of other family and beloved friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.
