Donald G. Lehman, Sr., 78, passed away February 27, 2011, at Mercy Medical Center.
Donald was born November 17, 1932, in Des Moines to Henry and Hazel Lehman. He was a truck driver for over 50 years before his retirement in 2010 from M & M Cartage, Inc. His trucker friends knew him as “Seal Beam.” Donald enjoyed fishing trips with his family.
Donald is survived by his wife of 58 years, Martha; sons, Donny Jr. and Bill (Sandee); daughter-in-law, Nancy; grandchildren, Donny III, Jay, Marcy, Andrew, Matthew, Chantelle and Emmett; five great-grandchildren; brothers, Ronald, Robert and David; and his sisters, Violet and Evelyn. He was preceded in death by his son, James; two brothers; and two sisters.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Friday, March 4, 2011, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Martha and family,
What a huge loss. Please know my thoughts and prayers are with you. I have missed Don's smiling face and jokes around the office. He always had such a positive attitude and was one of the hardest workers I have ever known. I am sure dad had work lined up for him when they met. He will be fishing and thinking up some great stories and jokes for when we all see him again.
