Opal K. Henley, 91, was born July 30, 1919, in Mercer, Missouri, the daughter of Jess and Susanne (Bloom) Moore. She passed away peacefully Sunday, February 27, 2011, at Trinity Center at Luther Park.
Opal is survived by her daughters, Alice Rasmussen (Jeff) of Altoona and Karen Helm (Joe) of Des Moines; grandson, Michael Helm (Brett Hoff); great-grandson, Owen Helm-Hoff of Minnesota and sister, Darlene Leivick (Keith) of Missouri. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Forrest Henley; sister, Nellie Robinson; brother, Wayne Moore and her parents.
The family will greet friends from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm Wednesday, March 2, 2011, at Hamilton’s Altoona Funeral Home, 105 4th Street SW in Altoona. Funeral services will begin at 12:00 pm, with burial to follow at Altoona Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society in loving memory of Opal.

i beleive opal worked with my mom years ago at victor golf and they also bowled together . my moms name was betty shedd was just a little girl back then i remember opal bought me a litle bottle of purfume . i still have that little bottle . my prayers are with your family god bless . i work at hyvee in the flower shop and a customer said her name for flowers i knew it was her.

So sorry for your loss but know she has not had the quality of life she would have enjoyed the past few years. Loss seems so final, but we do have hope in Christ.
