Richard Lundquist

Richard F. Lundquist, 72, went to be with his Lord on Tuesday, February 22, 2011, at his home. Funeral services will be held at 10 am, Saturday, February 26, at Grace Baptist Church, 9936 County Line Road, Des Moines. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street.

Richard was born September 2, 1938, in Galesburg, Ill., to Glenna and Kenneth Lundquist. He served in the US Navy. Richard worked at Firestone Tire and Rubber for 20 years. After that he worked at the Des Moines Art Center.

Richard enjoyed his computer and working in his yard. He was very active at his church where he was an elder. He loved to read his Bible.

Richard is survived by his loving wife, Sherry Lundquist; his children, Wendy Hamlett (David), Julie Dunn (Jeff), Russell Lundquist (Roxanne), Jill Gillespie (Mike), Lonny Morford and Lynn Spidell (Jerry); many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
