Susan Rae (Breuklander) Bartley age 34, Des Moines, Iowa was peacefully led home by the loving arms of the Lord to be reunited with her Mother on February 22, 2011. Born on July 15, 1976 she was a lifelong resident of Des Moines.
Susan was very playful, happy spirited and always wore a smile. She loved teasing her friends and family members. One of her greatest accomplishments and proudest moments was graduating Hoover High School.
Susan is survived by her Father Marion Breuklander of Des Moines Iowa, her sisters Connie Breuklander (Gary Tolles) of New Sharon Iowa, Tina Houghton (Larry Olson) of Sierra Vista Arizona. Also her nephews and nieces that include Gary Ross III of Ottumwa Iowa, Wayne Houghton of Hardy Arkansas, Johnnie Sims of New Sharon Iowa, Crystal Ross of Oskaloosa Iowa, Vicki Houghton of Sierra Vista, Arizona, Freedom Sims of New Sharon Iowa and Ashlee Sorter of Sierra Vista Arizona.
She was preceded in death by her Mother Dixie (Sams) Breuklander, her uncle Leo Sams and cousin Leo Sams.
A memorial service will be held at The Fort Des Moines Chapel at 75 East Army Post Road Des Moines Iowa on Saturday February 26th, 2011 at 4:30pm. After the service we will join together for a pot luck in her honor. Please bring a dish of anything you like.

We are sorry to hear about Susan passing. We were not aware and if we had known, would have attended the memorial service. Connie, we appreciate your note in regards to my mother's passing as well and understand why you were unable to attend. It is with deepest sympathy to your families for the loss of Susan. She was always joking around and teasing family and friends.

Its been many years since I have seen any of you guys. Im very saddened to hear about the loss of Susie. From what i can remember of Susie was she was such a happy person and as others stated she always wore a smile on her face. Susie is a distant cousin of mine. I lost touch with her, however I will always remember her for the kind of person that she was. Ive spent lots of laughing moments with Susie when she was about 17 years old and still going to Hoover and she was always such a pleasure to be around. Susie always had a good personality and was happy go lucky. My condolences go out to the entire family including the ones that i did not get the chance to meet. Susie or Marion may remember me by Heidi or Bo's daughter, Vonnie Zenor (Nug)s grandaughter, which Susie always called her Nugget. My heart, thoughts and prayers go out to all, and Susie Ill never forget you, rest in peace and I will see you someday.

we all love you very much aunt sue and you will be so missed. knowing your being taken care of by the other loved ones weve lost, i am sorry i couldnt make it however i love you none the less.my thoughts are with my family.

Susan, I have loved you from day one. I know sometimes I seemed so far away and for that I soooo apoligize.But just know I thought of you EVERY single day and I will continue to think of you EVERY single day :( It was an honor to have you in our lives as long as we did and it was my honor to hold your hand as you left. I know through all these years after losing Mom you were lost in this world. Now you are home with her and will not miss her any more, by the way Sue Please give her a hug and kiss from me.
