Betty Ryan

Betty Ryan, 83, was born February 19, 1928, in Carlisle, IA, the daughter of Elsworth and Mary (Moore) Miller. She passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on February 19, 2011, at Union Park Health Services. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, February 23, 2011, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, with burial to follow at Laurel Hill Cemetery.

Betty is survived by her son, Dennis Ryan; daughter, Gee Gee (Randy) Mireles; grandchildren, Dennis (Karen) Ryan, Janell (Alan Barton) Bailey, Chrissy (Richard) Knapp, and Cameron (Elisabeth) Wenzel; two step grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; eight step great grandchildren; sister, Polly James; many nieces and nephews and her best friend, Jane Trevorthen. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 57 years, Ray Ryan Jr.; her parents; two brothers; one sister and her daughter-in-law, Nancy Ryan.

The family will greet friends from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Union Park Health Services in loving memory of Betty.
