John E. Nash

John Nash, 67, died February 19, 2011, peacefully at his home surrounded by his family.

John was born February 8, 1944, in Oskaloosa, Iowa, to Joe and Maxine Nash. His careers included Rock Island Railroad, American Can Company, Massey Ferguson, and Titan Tires, but his true passion was auto body technician which he did for many years.

John enjoyed antiquing, fishing, trains, model aircrafts, but above all spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

John is survived by his wife of 49 years, Rosa; children, Jeff (Stacy) Nash; John Nash, Vicki (Darrin) Squires; brother, Richard Nash; sister, Cynthia (Rodney) Cory; 11 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, and son, Jason Nash.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, February 23, 2011, at Berean Assembly of God, 5299 E. University in Pleasant Hill. Burial will follow at Laurel Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday, February 22, 2011, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street in Des Moines.

Memorial contributions may be directed toward the family, to be used at a later date for the homeless and needy children.
