Blake Richard Dix passed away at University of Iowa Hospital on Tuesday February 15, 2011.
Left to cherish his memory are his mommy and daddy, Jason and Jennifer Dix; his big brother, Bryce; his grandparents, Ronda (Richard) Merritt, Ed (Cindy) Jacobe, and Dallas and Patsy Dix; and many cousins, aunts and uncles.
There will be a celebration of life at 11 a.m. Monday, February 21, 2011,11 at Highland Park Christian Church, 4260 Northwest 6th Drive, Des Moines.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the family in memory of Blake.

I can't even imagine what your family is going thru, my heart breaks for you guys. They say God doesn't give you more than you can handle but when something like this happens it certainly makes you wonder what he has planned. This experience has made many of us realize how blessed we are and to go home and give our kids some extra hugs and kisses.
Jason, I hope I didn't upset you this morning when I saw you and jumped. I don't think my heart was ready to see either one of you yet even though I knew it was going to happen sooner or later. Afterwards Hailey asked why I was crying and I explained a little, so when she went into her room she sat down by Bryce and gave him a hug, of course that caused more tears.
You both are very lucky to have each other to lean on and great families for support. But PLEASE don't hesitate to reach out if you need ANYTHING at all.

Jennifer and Jason,
May your memories of Blake sustain you and may you find peace knowing you did all humanly possible for Blake. You now have an angel shining brightly down upon you. I will hold you near in my prayers for needed strength knowing that the 3 of you will provide each other the comfort and love that will lift your hearts again someday.

Jennifer, Jason, and family,
Words cannot express the heartbreak that we are feeling for you and your family. I know that it is very hard to understand and comprehend what has happened. It is especially hard to realize that God has a plan for everyone when something like this happens.
