Ruth Savage

Ruth Savage, 87, passed away February 14, 2011, at Trinity Center at Luther Park.

Ruth was born May 20, 1923, in Des Moines. She served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. Ruth was a 50-year member of Union Park United Methodist Church. She was the matriarch of her family and loved spending time with her grandchildren. She enjoyed crafting, gardening and woodworking.

Ruth is survived by her daughters, Lynda Simon and Bobbye (Sam) Scheidler; grandchildren, Bob Hayes, Marlo Hand, Matt Scheidler, Devani Scheidler and Eric Simon; and 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob Savage and daughter, Bonnye Savage.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 28, 2011 at the Iowa Veterans Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Arthritis Foundation in honor of Ruth’s memory.
