Callen Thomas Gentry was stillborn Tuesday, February 8, 2011, at Mercy Hospital, to Damon and Shelly Gentry. A private Mass will be held at Our Lady’s Immaculate Heart at a later date.
Callen is survived by his dad and mom, Damon and Shelly; big brother, Nolan; paternal grandparents, Dale and Lynne Gentry; maternal grandparents, Larry (Jennifer) Meyer and Susan (Curt) Willette; great-grandmothers, Bernadine Gentry and Maxine Kail; uncle, Nathan (Emily) Gentry; aunts, Sara and Kim Meyer, Michaela Graffunder, and Vanessa Squier; and a host of other family and friends.
Memorial contributions may be made to the family in loving memory of Callen.

Shelly - My mom emailed me about the loss of Callen. I am so, so, so sorry! I'm crying as I sit here typing this message. I can't even imagine the pain you must be feeling right now. I pray that God's grace would be evident to you in the days/weeks/months to come.
I know you may not be up to reading (or much of anything really) these days, but when you get a chance, I highly recommend the book "I Will Carry You" by Angie Smith. She carried a little girl she was told was "not compatible with life". She prayed God would heal Audrey, knowing that He could, but in the end, He didn't. She shares about her hurt, anger, and disappointment, all the while praising God for who He is. I read the book after coming home with our twins girls, Natalie and Sophia. They were born in July at 31 weeks, and spent a full month in the NICU. I cried through the entire book, but it was helpful for me to read.

Damon & Shelly, I am sorry to hear about your loss. I talked to your dad Damon at the RC post office last week and he is taking it very hard. They say that God has a reason for everything and maybe someday you will know why Callen was taken too soon. You & your family are in my thoughts & prayers during this most difficult time.
