Janice E. Frey
February 02, 2011
Janice E. Frey, 89, passed away February 2, 2011, at the Norwalk Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Per her wishes she has been cremated and no services are planned.
Janice was born September 27, 1921, in Des Moines, the daughter of Raymond and Juanita Pinckney. She was an East High graduate. Janice was very passionate about the Iowa State Fair, where she worked family concessions/Hardenbrook Concessions. She enjoyed her flower gardens, watching her birds and visiting Frankenmuth, MI, at Christmastime with her family. In addition to Des Moines, Janice had lived in Lake Orion, MI, Collins, IA, and most recently Norwalk.
Janice leaves to cherish her memory her husband of 60 years, James Frey; son, Robert (Denise) Beener of Norwalk; daughter, Denise Rae Brown of Oxford, MI; grandchildren, Dustin (Chris) Beener, Kara (Steven) Lukens, Brian (Sharyn) Beener and Susan (Matt) Muller; great-grandchildren, Madeline and Allison Lukens, Joe and Madelynn Muller, and Dakota Beener; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Lee Pinckney; and her first husband, Robert Beener, who was killed in WWII.
Janice will be missed by many, including the “family-like staff” at the Norwalk Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Iowa State Fair Blue Ribbon Foundation in loving memory of Janice.

This morning is a lazy one for me so while brousing thru the internet I came across your obit. I wish I could wave my magic wand and put this family of mine back to where it belongs . Then, I wouldn'thave to search the obits to find information concerning what was at one time, part of my family. That would be you,Jim, Denise and Kara, I am so lonely I could die and I will soon. For now, I know that you will rest in peace.
