Virginia Veach

Virginia Veach, 80, went to be with the Lord on Friday, January 28, 2011, at Iowa Methodist Hospital.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, February 1, 2011, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, February 2, 2011, at Fellowship Baptist Church, 1503 S.E. 6th Street, with burial following at Laurel Hill Cemetery. A luncheon will be held at the church following the services.

Virginia was born September 8, 1930, in Atlanta, GA, to Laverne and Josephine Bates. She was devoutly religious and spent many hours reading and contemplating the word of the Lord. Family was very important to her and she loved planning family get-togethers. Virginia was very talented at needlepoint and liked doing crafts. She played the piano and taught many of her grandchildren to play.

Virginia is survived by her daughter, Deb (Steve) Dewein; sons, Dan Veach and Tim (Dar) Veach; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Raleigh.

Memorial contributions may be made to Fellowship Baptist Church or Alpha Women’s Center in loving memory of Virginia.
