Jack Davis

Jack Davis, 86, died on Thursday, January 27, 2011, at Bishop Drumm Retirement Center.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9:30 a.m. Monday, January 31, 2011, in the Our Lady of Peace Chapel at Bishop Drumm, 5837 Winwood Drive, Johnston, IA, with burial following at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, Albia, IA. There will be a visitation from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday, January 30, 2011, at Bishop Drumm.

Jack was born June 11, 1924, in Lovilla, IA to Floyd and Nell Davis. He married Agnes O’Neill, the love of his life, on January 9, 1947. They lived in Albia before moving to Des Moines in 1953. Jack was employed for 40 years with the Maytag Company, Newton, IA. He was a loving family man who never met a stranger. He enjoyed pheasant and quail hunting and loved working with wood.

Those left to cherish Jack’s memory are his daughter, Rita (David) Rusley of Cedar Falls; two sons, Randy (Karolyn) and Philip (Deb) of Altoona; brother, Dave (Charlotte) Davis of Johnston; six grandchildren and five great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife, Agnes.
