Jerry N. Shultice

Jerry Neal Shultice, 49, passed away Saturday, January 22, 2011. He was born February 27, 1961, in Tacoma, Washington.

Jerry and his siblings were raised on an acreage near Elkhart, Iowa. He graduated from North Polk High School in Alleman, and DMACC in Ankeny with a Building Trades degree. He worked as a carpenter in the central Iowa area and Tulsa, OK. Jerry later followed in his father’s footsteps and worked as a mailer at the Des Moines Register for 20 years. He enjoyed family get-togethers and holidays when stories of growing up were shared. Jerry had a very dry sense of humor and loved to tease and joke.

Following an accident in 2005, Jerry has been cared for by his parents. He loved being home with his parents and especially enjoyed his mother’s cooking.

He is survived by his parents, Gary and Judith Shultice of Indianola; sister, Keri Miller (Bob Krukow) of Des Moines; brother, Kirk Shultice (Jennifer) of Altoona; nieces and nephews, Blake and Brooke Shultice, Justin and Zach Miller, Lindee, Rachal and Kassi Shultice; and his son, Eli Estey of Des Moines.

Jerry was preceded in death by his brother, Rob Shultice and his grandparents, Clark and Fidelis Geppert and Theron and Alice Shultice.

A private family burial will take place at a later date.
