Rose E. Aguiniga

Rose R. Aguiniga, 89, passed away January 21, 2011, at the Good Samaritan Society in Indianola.

Rose was born the daughter of Raymond and Maria Rodriguez in Ft. Morgan, CO, on August 31, 1921. She lived her younger years in Chicago, IL, where she met Primitivo John Aguiniga Sr. They were married February 22, 1939, in Chicago. Rose and Primitivo moved to Valley Junction, IA, where they raised 13 children.

Rose is survived by her children, Rosalie (Richard) McCoy, Primitivo John Aguiniga, Jr., George (Sheldon) Aguiniga, Raymond (Jill) Aguiniga, Ramona (Dennis) Fritz, Martha (Kenny) Fritz, Janice (Ron) Bagley, Janet (Jeff) Cole, Beatrice (Dennis) Negrete, Richard (Linda) Aguiniga and Mary Paredes; brother, Al Rodriguez; 35 grandchildren; 104 great-grandchildren and 55 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Primitivo John Aguiniga Sr.; son, Robert Aguiniga; daughter, Gloria Fritz; brothers, Phil and Willie; and sisters, Faye and Mary.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, January 26, 2011,at the Basilica of St. John followed by burial at Glendale Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, with a Vigil Service at 7 p.m., at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Good Samaritan Society.
