Darrell L. Gordinier, 72, died Thursday, January 20, 2011. He was born August 29, 1938 in Des Moines to John and Helen (Lockard) Gordinier.
Darrell retired from Firestone. He was a member of Highland Park Christian Church and a former member of the Auburn Masonic Lodge in the Highland Park area. He was a longtime supporter of the Highland Park Little League Association, where he served as a board member and past President. Darrell enjoyed golfing with his sons, gardening, being outdoors and most importantly, spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Darrell is survived by his wife of 51 years, Linda Gordinier; sons, Todd (Tina) Gordinier, Tim (Andrea White) Gordinier, and Tom (Rose) Gordinier; grandchildren, Mindy (Jason) McNew, Dustin, Katie (Jim) Freerksen, John, Marissa, and Mason; great-grandson, Nathan; and brother, Larry (Emily) Gordinier. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Robert Gordinier.
A memorial visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m., Monday, January 24, 2011 at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue.

I am sad for your loss. I know how much help and support you were to Darrell. It was a pleasure to get to know both of you when Darrell was at On Wtih Life. He was a character!! That is a compliment. You know that more than anyone. You are in my thoughts and prayers.
