Robert E. Lee, Sr., 73, passed away January 19, 2011, at Bright Kavanagh House from complications of a stroke.

Robert was born January 20, 1937, in Norwalk, IA, to Raymond and Fannie Lee. He had worked as a maintenance engineer for Iowa Methodist Hospital and Gamble Robinson Co. He had also been a teacher at Cummings Community School. Robert was a member of the Iowa Air National Guard, Linn Grove Church in Prole, and Local Union 147. He loved fishing, karaoke, playing pool, cards and dice. He also enjoyed spending time with his family, cutting wood, working on cars and he had a love of music. His family will remember him as a great provider.

Robert is survived by his wife, Patricia; children, John (Willa) Lee, Barbara (Terry) Gray, Ronald Lee, Robert (Amy) Lee, Jr., Tonya (Joe) Battin, Rebecca (Joe) Stewart; 21 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Duane and Paul Lee; sister, Sharon Jenkins; sons, Daniel and David; daughters, Connie, Bonnie and Baby Girl Trisler Lee; and his grandson, Alexander Robert Lee.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 22, 2011, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
