Service Details
Patricia Huffman, 75, died Sunday, January 16, 2011, at Methodist Hospital in Des Moines. She was born April 3, 1935, in Des Moines to Harold and Margaret (Denton) Kohls.
She was a member of the Pony Express Riders and VFW Auxiliary. Patricia enjoyed spending holidays with her family and being outdoors. She especially liked horses, flowers, going camping and bird watching.
Patricia is survived by her children, Connie (Deb) Huffman, Erin Oswald, Kevin (Kim) O’Neill, and Terry (Brad) Tingley; grandchildren, Justin (Kelli) Oswald, Melissa Oswald, and Jason Tingley; great-grandchildren, Corbin Oswald and Quinntin Oswald. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; and brother, Gary Kohls.
Memorial services will be held 12 p.m., Thursday, January 20, 2011, at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue, Des Moines, with a memorial reception one hour prior.
Memorial contributions may be made to Easter Seals Society for Camp Sunnyside in loving memory of Patricia.

I was very sorry to hear of Pat's passing, i did not know about it until yesterday Jan 20th had I known I would have attended the services. Pat, Don, Darrell, Holly Gamble, Wayne, Lois Galpin and Myself and my wife were very close friends. We did a lot of Pony Express things together. The year we recorded the Pony Express song all of us put on many a mile together attending many functions
Pat was such a close friend I feel like I have lost a family member. There was never a nicer lady than Pat. Again my condolences and apology for not being there for the service.

I have so many memories from my childhood and even my adult years. Camping, horse shows, rodeos, Pony Exoress dances, sitting around campfires listening to all the bs that floated around. You and my parents were such good friends for so many years, it's hard to remember a time in my life without you. Now the 4 of you are reunited once again. Look out Heaven, they will have a good time!! I love you Pat, and you'll forever be in my heart.

Dear Family,
Patty will be forever a fond memory within our family. Over the years we had many fun times, family memories experienced and antique adventures along the way. We know she is now in the hands of god and will be forever at peace with reuniting with her family in heaven.

I had the pleasure of knowing Patricia for only a short 6 months but she touched my heart and will be greatly missed. I'm sorry for your loss. She was a great person who always knew how to make me smile. I'm so very sorry.

Dear Family,
Memories of Patty will always be in our hearts. She was a special person to us.
Phil will never forget the growing up years he had living by Aunt Margaret, Patty and Gary. Phil's father, Paul, and Margaret were very close as brother and sister.
We all have an empty place in our hearts now, but soon will be filled with happy memories.
