Service Details
Jerry Brannon, 60, passed away Saturday, January 15, 2011, at Iowa Lutheran Hospital.
A funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m., Wednesday, January 19, 2011, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, with visitation one hour prior to the service, and burial to follow at Resthaven Cemetery.
Jerry was born on August 16, 1950, in Elba, Alabama. He was employed by the Des Moines Public School District. He enjoyed music, playing cards, watching cartoons, football, wrestling and sports. Most of all he loved being around his grandchildren.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Lena; his stepchildren, Luis (Jackie) Clyce, Oleeta (Lindsay) Clyce, and Curtis (Mai) Clyce; his sisters, Barbara Robinson and Venita C. Lee; his brothers, Roger (Teng) Brannon, Carlton Brannon, Ricky (Ellison) Brannon and Michael Brannon; and nine grandchildren, with many nephews, nieces and cousins.

To the family of Mr. Jerry Brannon, we, the pastor, associate ministers, and the entire church family express to you our deepest sympathy in the passing of your loved one. Our lives are a rich tapestry of things weve done and said with memories of those we love outlined in golden thread. Although it is sad to lose those who are dear to us, there is comfort in remembering the times they made us laugh and comforted us when we cried. Their thoughtfulness, warmth and unselfishness, and all the times they made such a positive difference in our lives will always be remembered. Memories such as these will never fade with time, but will grow stronger and richer thru the years. May you find comfort and peace in knowing that your loved one is in Gods care, and many thoughts and prayers of others are with you.
