Service Details

Debra Lavon Rau, 56, passed into the care of God at her home on January 14, 2011. Her wish was to be cremated. There will be a visitation at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, on Saturday, January 22, 2011, from 2 to 4 p.m., with disposition of the cremated remains on a later date.

Debra was born February 20, 1954, in St. Cloud, MN, the only child of Thomas and LaVerne Rau. She attended Meredith and graduated from Hoover High School in 1972.

Debra was an animal lover, enjoyed being with family and friends and was an avid Minnesota Vikings fan. She also enjoyed TV game and reality shows and caring for her family members, her pets and her many plants.

Debra is survived by her husband, Alan Wenger; her “children,” (the dogs) Katie and Buster; mother- and father-in-law, Betty and Don Wenger; stepchildren, Matthew (Megan) Wenger, Brent Wenger and fiancé Judy Craig, and Coral Wenger; sisters-in-law, Linda (Roger) Corbett and Lissa Wenger; step-grandson, Patrick Sharp; niece, Alison (Amos) Groenendyk; nephew, Andrew Corbett; step-mother, Shirley Rau; aunt, Lavon Schmidt; cousins, Jim (Sandy) Rau and Chuck (Darlene) Rau. She was preceded in death by her parents; her grandparents; and two uncles.
