Darlene Christensen

Darlene Edna Christensen, 82, passed away peacefully Monday, March 26, 2007 at Iowa Health Hospice Taylor House. Funeral services will be held at 10am Wednesday, March 28th at Hamilton’s Altoona Funeral Home with burial to follow at Altoona Cemetery.
Darlene was born June 24, 1924 in Avoca, Iowa, the daughter of Roy and Edna (Coffman) Conklin. She retired from IPERS after many years of faithful service. Darlene enjoyed crocheting, music, playing board games, nature and bird watching. Above all else, she loved spending time with her family.
Darlene is survived by her son, Thomas (Susan) Hansen of Spokane, Washington and their children, Tommy (Jacinda) Hansen and Bekky Hansen, sons Gage and Cody; her son, Tim (Gaye) Hansen of Spokane, Washington and their children, Tracy (Fred) Sanders, sons Ryan and Cole, Teri (Bodie) Holloway, sons Truman and Tate, and Mark Hansen; her daughter, Maureen (Joe) Vignovich of Mitchellville and their children, Debbie (Andy) McReynolds, children Connor, Keegan and Kiernan, Dede Vignovich, sons Greyson and Devon, Joe (Tracey) Vignovich, daughters Hannah, Molly and Jenna and Lauree (Dan) Deublein; her son, Ted (Donna) Christensen of Granger and their children, Cameron (Jamie) Christensen, Zachry (Danielle) Christensen, expecting their first child in July, and Casaundra Christensen; brother, Frank (Wanda) Conklin of Omaha, Nebraska and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 57 years, Marion Christensen.
The family will greet friends from 5-7pm Tuesday, March 27th at the funeral home.
