Vicki Wicker, 53, passed away January 8, 2011, at her home, after a five year battle with cancer.
Vicki was born September 22, 1957, in Des Moines, to Crystal and Glenn Wicker.
Vicki worked as a salesperson. She enjoyed animals, visiting with people and having fun. Vicki truly never knew a stranger.
Vicki is survived by her mother, Crystal Wicker; sister, Linda Rehms; brothers, David and Jim Wicker; two nieces; two nephews; a host of other loving family and friends. She is preceded in death by her father, Glenn E. Wicker.
A memorial service will be held 1:00 PM Wednesday, January 12, 2011, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street. The family will greet guests one hour prior to the service.
Memorial contributions may be directed toward the family in loving memory of Vicki.

Vicki and I had a lot of fun in high school. She was always so lovable. She will always hold a special place in my heart.

I had not seen Vicki for many years-but revisited at the early stages of her-illness-we both spoke of "the old days"She also shared with me the ONE thing she wanted most before she would die-HOPE YOU GOT IT!!!

We are so sorry to hear of Vicki passing. Our Daughter Tammy will really miss her. I saw her in August and talk to her on the 14th of Dec and want to tell you we are very sorry for your loss. God Bless Your Family.

Dear family of Vicki,
I am so sorry for your loss of your daughter & sister. I worked with Vicki at Silkscapes 24 years ago. I was new to Des Moines, so Vicki showed me around. We had lots of fun together. I helped, along with Judy Mease at Linda's wedding by picking up after the reception. I met my husband 20 years ago, and lost touch with Vicki, because she was my single girlfriend. I am so sorry she had to fight cancer for 5 years. I know she is not suffering anymore. Vicki, we had fun! See you when I get there! Your friend always, Tammy Kruse Coles.

Sorry for your loss isn't big enough to cover this one. Gosh darn we're going to miss her! She was such a driving force and SUCH a fighter. With her unique voice, laugh and always a viewpoint, life was never boring when she was around.
Her battle was hard and now she's at peace. I am truly blessed to have been part of this extended family. I wouldn't exchange our childhood times and memories for ALL the gold in the world! Thank you.

My sincerest condolences on the loss of Vicki. The big family gatherings of yesteryear are never far from my mind when I think of Vicki, and within her personality, she retained that youthful joy and love of fun that we all saw in her back then.
