Bernice Harrington

Bernice Harrington, 78, passed from this life into the waiting arms of Jesus on Saturday, January 1, 2011, at the Bright Kavanagh House in Des Moines, Iowa. She was born January 22, 1932 to Gladys and Wilbur Musson in Bradford, Iowa.

Bernice’s life revolved around her family, especially her grandchildren. She spent the last 6 years of her life living with her daughter and son-in-law and caring for her twin grandsons. Spending time with her friends was also something she enjoyed and she easily made new ones wherever she went.
Bernice lived her entire life putting others first; loving and caring for all without exception. She was an amazing woman who taught us what living and loving is all about. We will miss her.

She is survived by children: Shirley (Barry) Wright, Dan Harrington and Heidi (Bert) Boren; grandchildren: Cody (Cassie), Tenysa, Isaiah and Elijah and one great grandchild, Libby; her sister, Beverly and brother, Terry. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Harrington, and son, Russ Snell.

Services will be held 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 4, 2011, at the Grace Community Church, 877 NE 64th Street, Pleasant Hill, with burial to follow at the Pine Hill Cemetery in Des Moines, Iowa. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m., Monday, January 3, 2011, at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue, Des Moines, Iowa.

Memorial Contributions may be made to Grace Community Church in loving memory of Bernice.
